2023 Chevrolet Equinox: What’s New?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox has been officially postponed, and it should arrive in the following year with many upgrades. This unremarkable compact crossover SUV is among the most popular compact crossovers in the segment, featuring unique styling. It also has a great cabin highlighted with ample passenger room, a feature-laden infotainment system, and a plethora of quality materials. Also, from the latest news, the manufacturer will add more equipment across all trims.

Furthermore, all Equinox models are powered by the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 170 horsepower. The power is routed to a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive system optionally.

The upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is the SUV that will be available in a single body style. This compact four-door crossover comes with a restyled front fascia, featuring an attractive design.

For 2023, styling changes applied to Chevy’s popular compact crossover are a new front grille that extends into the redesigned headlamps, new foglamps, and restyled lower fascia. The side profile is still sporty, and it hosts a fresh new gray color wheels. On the back, minimal changes are visible, and the new Chevrolet Equinox comes with a redesigned taillamps and bumper.

Chevrolet Equinox RS

The 2023 Chevy Equinox RS will be available as well. This specific trim differs from the rest of the Chevy Equinox range in many things. First of all, it comes with blacked-out styling, seen on bowties, badges, roof rails, quad exhaust tips, and the set of 19-inch alloy wheels. The meshed grille is also more attractive thanks to a glossy blacked-out treatment.

First Look Inside

The cabin of the new 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is made from durable materials and is very nicely styled. On top of that, there is plenty of room to fit five passengers. Both front and rear-seat passengers should enjoy comfort, with enough luxuries to keep every long trip more manageable. In addition, the cabin features plenty of standard or optional equipment on higher trim levels.

Choosing the basics model, buyers will get a 7.0-inch touchscreen with a Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment interface atop Equinox’s dash. However, a larger 8.0-inch unit is optional, while Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and 4G LTE onboard Wi-Fi are standard, like Bluetooth phones and audio streaming.

Safety Options

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox will offer an array of standard safety features. It includes a Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Vision Camera, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Forward Collision Alert.

Under the bonnet, the forthcoming 2023 Chevrolet Equinox will, unfortunately, use the same engine as before. This SUV comes with a turbo 1.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 170 horsepower. It also uses an optional all-wheel-drive system, while the front-wheel is standard. In addition, the six-speed automatic is available, and it shifts seamlessly.

The Chevy Equinox, thanks to this engine, can tow up to 3500 pounds when properly equipped. Moreover, the current variant delivers 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway with the same machine. Interestingly, adding all-wheel drive reduces ratings by one mpg.

Release Date, Price

Besides the reliable platform, attractive look, and stylish cabin, the new 2023 Chevrolet Equinox also offers a very efficient engine. Generally speaking, for 2023, this model receives some minor upgrades over the current generation.

Indeed, it looks more attractive, but it’s not significantly different. According to the news, the redesigned variant will arrive next year as the 2023 model. Pricing is not yet available, but from some speculations, it would cost slightly higher. The current model starts at $25,000, delivering great packages of equipment for the invested money.

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Is GM’s New Pinnacle

The upcoming three-row 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe is ready to receive some significant updates. This full-size SUV is GM’s pinnacle that provides handsome styling, and an even better interior. On top of that, it shares plenty of design cues and mechanical structures with the much larger Chevy Suburban.

For 2022, Tahoe will receive some updates, and it will look much better. Along with a completely redesigned cabin, this three-row SUV offers more standard features, and it also provides more cargo and passenger space. However, like before, this model is powered by two gasoline and one diesel option.

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Redesign

The new 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe is one of the best SUVs in the market. It’s almost half a foot longer than the previous model. Generally, like the Chevy Silverado and Chevy Suburban, the new Tahoe receives the same dose of uniqueness. It retains the same traditional boxy shape, with a much bigger grille. On top of that, headlight housings are reshaped, making more distinctive boomerang running lights and standard LED headlights.

From the side, the Tahoe has a more athletic stance, especially if you choose the RST model. Then you’re going to get a “street-inspired” look with blacked-out aesthetics and stylish 22-inch wheels. The premium High Country model is still the best option and the most expensive. It hosts bronze grille accents, optional power-retractable assist steps, and new shiny 22-inch wheels.

Cabin Features and Updates

The latest 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe comes in the form of a 3-row seater, providing enough room for everyone. Notably, the new cabin is much roomier than before. The third row now has few more inches of legroom, which means adults can actually sit back there comfortably. Cargo space is a class-leading, with 25.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats. The current model only provides 15.3 cubic feet.

As for standard equipment, all Tahoe models include premium cloth seating, tri-zone climate control, 8-way power front seats, remote engine start, and a mechanical limited-slip differential. Also, it comes with a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and 6-speaker audio system, 4G LTE, and in-vehicle Wi-Fi is also standard. The base model still offers a forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking.

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Engine Specs

The new 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe offers a choice of three engines. Like the previous generation, the new one uses the same 5.3-liter V8 engine that makes a healthy 355 horsepower. This engine is standard on all except High Country models. However, if you want something more powerful and more significant, General Motors also offers a 6.2-liter V8 optionally, making 420-horsepower. This powertrain is only available if you buy the top-line High Country model.

New to the Tahoe lineup is the 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6 that is optional in all but the Z71 model. This model is the most economical, and it produces 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. According to Chevrolet, the diesel model is rated in city/highway 21 mpg/28 mpg (RWD), 20 mpg/26 mpg (4WD). All models above are available with 10-speed automatic transmission as the only option. The Tahoe also uses a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) as standard or a 4-wheel drive (4WD) across the line optionally. On the other hand, Tahoe’s maximum towing capacity is still 8,400 pounds.

Street Mag Show: Celebrating American Cars In Germany – Speedhunters

Street Mag Show: Celebrating American Cars In Germany

It’s been over half a year since COVID-19 started really appearing and affecting our daily lives. In the time since, most major events have been cancelled and I’m pretty sure we’ve all suffered from cabin fever. Slowly it seems that things are returning back to some kind of semblance of normal, but it will still be quite some time until things are back as they used to be. Hence why I was pretty stoked that the 2020 Street Mag Show in Hannover even happened at all.

This annual event is actually one of the biggest American car meets in Germany, but to comply with the strict hygiene rules that now dictate our lives, the show had to be drastically decreased in size. The same area that held roughly 18,000 visitors and over 2,500 cars in 2019 was to limited to 1,000 people and just a few hundred cars this year.

I peeled myself out of bed at an ungodly hour on a Saturday morning, hopped in my car and drove an hour towards Dortmund. Here I met up with a friend and jumped into his ‘88 Chevrolet Caprice. Wow, what a difference. After coming from my Porsche 944, the Caprice felt like entering a different dimension. I quickly made myself comfortable on the front bench seat and just enjoyed the ride.

I have owned a few American vehicles myself, but nothing as old and plushy as this Caprice. The nearest thing I could equate it to would be my late grandfather’s favorite old armchair. Only with V8 noises instead of grandpa’s snoring.

With the Chevy being so comfy, the next two hours passed in a blur as we cruised towards Hannover. On the way it became apparent that not only would the event be limited in size due to the COVID rules, but the weather also was planning on ruining the day. There was occasional rain and the sky was looking very dreary and grey.

However, it seems that people were eager to take this chance to get out of the house, and while there weren’t all that many cars on site when we arrived, it quickly filled up. Mind you, with Hannover’s Schützenplatz being big enough to host last year’s meet of almost 20,000 visitors, it still looked very sparsely populated.

Germany is home to a large American car scene, and it shows. I expected there to be rows and rows of Mustangs, but the actual variety surprised me. The most common car at the show proved to be the modern Challenger, which is a given as it offers a lot of car for the money and is readily available through various import dealers.

Along with the regulars, I spotted some American models that I’d previously only ever seen in pictures, like this Jeep Honcho.

One of my personal favorites was a blue ‘73 Chevy Impala station wagon with a powered clamshell tailgate. The owner demonstrated it for me and it’s seriously the coolest thing ever! Sorry for getting a bit excited there, but I honestly really, really want one now. If you have no idea what it is, go look it up on YouTube. The rear glass moves up into the roof and the actual tailgate slides down into the floor of the car, leaving you with a gaping hole through which you can load up your groceries. Handy!

Another one I really loved was this orange-on-white Chevy Cheyenne, a ‘72 model, I think. I absolutely love classic American pickup trucks; they’re practical vehicles and ooze coolness. I had a quad-cab Ram truck for a few years as my daily, which stuck out like a sore thumb here in Germany, and I really wouldn’t mind another truck in my life. Preferably one just like this.

Speedhunters_Bastien_Bochmann_DSCF3627

Or maybe a van to go off-the beaten-track exploring in? This 4×4 Ram looked to be the perfect adventuring-mobile, although I imagine it wouldn’t be too capable when going up inclines due to the long overhang in the rear. But no matter, it more than makes up for that in looks.

Speedhunters_Bastien_Bochmann_DSCF3624

Or if that’s too small for you, I even saw a GMC Motorhome.

Speedhunters_Bastien_Bochmann_DSCF3547

People lined up to drive onto the show stage where their cars would be judged to win a trophy while a moderator let fly with a lot of trivia and facts. When this Impala rolled up, I knew I had to take a closer look.

Speedhunters_Bastien_Bochmann_DSCF3473
Speedhunters_Bastien_Bochmann_DSCF34781

Sitting low on air ride and with some impressive engravings on the bright work, this Chevy was definitely one of the highlights of the show for me.

Speedhunters_Bastien_Bochmann_DSCF3536

There was even a gasser-style drag car, called Nautilus, which put on quite a burnout show at noon.

Speedhunters_Bastien_Bochmann_DSCF3586

The screaming V8, the squealing tires and the huge clouds of smoke made for an epic picture, accompanied by Arthur Brown’s ‘Fire’ blasting from the speakers. “I am the god of hellfire” indeed.

Speedhunters_Bastien_Bochmann_DSCF3403

Speedhunters_Bastien_Bochmann_DSCF3399

All in all, the show proved to be a nice day out – even if it was significantly smaller than last year. Attending a proper car show was definitely long overdue for me, and this at least sated my thirst for the time being. I’m taking it as a sign of things getting back to normal.

I hope next year’s show will be back to its old form and thriving with more visitors than ever. The only annoying thing is, I now find myself looking at V8 wagons and pickup trucks for sale! Sigh…
